Week 3 already? Time flies when you get paid to wrangle kids and make fun food!
Alright, so now we’re at Week 3. I wasn’t feeling too inspired and we had to use up a lot of the leftover peppers and ground beef, which got me thinking: pizza! Everyone loves pizza! I found a bunch of pita breads in the freezer, and ordered a few more bags for good measure, which makes for the perfect individual sized (thin crust) pizza! I had the time to fry up the ground beef ahead of time so that they could have the option to put it on their pizza. I organized the room into different stations to increase efficiency which included a sauce station, cheese station, meat station, and veggie station! The veggies were left for the kids to cut up, which were surprisingly almost all used up! I also included pesto sauce next to the tomato sauce for some of the kids to experiment with – and it was very popular! As a previously picky eater (especially as a child) I was thrilled to see how many kids piled on the mushrooms, onions, peppers, and tomatoes onto their pizzas! I also included corn (which is a weird personal favourite topping) which was not as popular. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You win some, you lose some.
This activity was a little too easy, but a fan favourite for sure! Next time, the kids suggested that it would be cool to create their own pizza dough ahead of time, so i’ll keep that in mind for the future!
